Community Day was a 25th Anniversary celebration to remember!

Taiko drummers from the San Mateo Buddhist Temple sounded a gathering fanfare in the Library's lobby as friends, neighbors, founders, and supporters joined us for an old fashioned birthday party! The festivities included musical performances by the Hillsdale High School Jazz Combo Band (with a "Happy Birthday" serenade) and Bazmiband (who had us dancing in the lobby!), speeches by local officials and leaders, and, of course, cake! Children's activities, including hands on crafts, a sing-a-long storytime with William Lipton (local high school student and tv star) and an "all library" scavenger hunt filled out the event. Thank you to all our performers, participants, volunteers, and guests -- it was a day we will remember for the next 25 years!
