The San Mateo Public Library Foundation is searching for passionate and committed community members to join our Board of Directors. We are looking to fill board seats with individuals who recognize the Library as an important agent of our community’s health.

Our Board of Directors is a vital part of our leadership team, partnering with our staff and volunteers to implement our mission, Strategic Plan, and continuously improve our organization. As a member of our board, you will play a crucial role in driving positive change in our community through advocacy and fundraising.

Advise on fundraising strategy and fiscal decisions

Support fundraising by contributing time and talents to campaigns and events

Recruitment and Onboarding Process
Typically we onboard a cohort of new board members at the end of our fiscal year in June. Here is an overview of our process:

Submit an interest form no later than May 1. You can find this form here.

Board members will review and select the candidates to interview.

Final acceptance will occur by early June.

Introduction to the board at our June annual meeting.

First meeting as an "official board member" is in August.
