ABOUT US
Last year, over 764,469 people visited the library and more than 36,881 people attended 1,345 dynamic and educational programs.
The San Mateo Public Library Foundation provides funding to bridge the gap between what city and state resources provide, and what our diverse community needs and expects from a 21st century community resource.
Our mission is to seek private financial support from the community to ensure that high-quality Library programs and services will always be available.
MISSION STATEMENT
The San Mateo Public Library Foundation seeks private financial support from the community to ensure high-quality library services will always be available now and for future generations.
Our objectives are:

Raise funds for the purchase of library materials and expanded collections, support of children’s services, adult literacy programs, biotech resource librarian and improved facilities.

Support educational and promotional activities developed by the San Mateo Public Library.

Support special projects at the request of the City Librarian including cultural events for the community.
