Annual Fund Appeal

Dear Friend of the
Library:
When I donate to an organization, I want to know that my money is
making a difference. When I donate locally, I have greater
assurance that my contribution is being used effectively to
address specific, local needs. In our community, the San Mateo
Public Library Foundation provides the extra help that the library
needs to open the world of reading for our children, connect
people with information and inspire a lifetime of learning for
all.
Please support the fine work of the library by making a donation
to the Library Foundation’s annual fundraising campaign. Our goal
is to raise $200,000 to support three funding priorities:
- Children’s services and
programs that entertain, inform and arouse curiosity
- Project Read adult literacy
program, serving central San Mateo County
- Library collections - books,
DVD, CD, videos, books on tape, magazines, newspapers and other
resources
The Library Foundation needs your
help because of the challenges the library faces today - increased
publications costs, demands for more materials in multiple formats
to meet diverse community needs, requests for more opportunities
to learn how to access information through the Internet and
improve literacy skills.
All donors receive The Library Times newsletter to keep informed
of current programs and progress on the new library building
project, and invitations to special events including an annual
donor reception. Donors who are able to make a gift of $100 or
more will have a bookplate inscribed with their name and placed in
a book in the library.
Please give generously to a valuable community resource – your
library. Few other investments represent the chance to serve so
many people so well. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dildar Gill Pisani
