Contributions That Create Lasting Legacies in Your Community
Marybeth Carter, Interim Executive Director, San Mateo Public
Library Foundation
The San Mateo Public Library Foundation provides the extra
financial support that the Library needs to open the world of
reading for our children, connect people with information and
inspire a lifetime of learning for all. When you make a gift to
the Foundation, you can be assured that your money is making a
difference to address specific, local needs in our community
through the Library and its programs.
The new Main Library is literally exploding with children, adults
and families. Daily, the schedule is filled with unique,
community-based programs, such as book clubs, film festivals,
author series and more. If you are interested in creating a
lasting legacy in your community, consider these donor
opportunities to support the Library Foundation’s mission to
ensure that high-quality library services are available today and
for future generations:
Capital Campaign - Donors are stepping forward every day to
help the Library Foundation raise the final $2 million to complete
the Capital Campaign for the new library. All donations in any
amounts are welcome and will help the Foundation reach its goal.
Donor Wall - The names of donors who make contributions of
$1,000 and more to the Capital Campaign are prominently displayed
on the exterior front wall of the Library. At this time, the Donor
Wall is a temporary rendering of the final display of names that
will be permanently affixed in Fall 2007.
“Create A Legacy” - Donors of $25,000 and more to the
Library Foundation are invited to have their family or business
name forever mounted on a room, nook or area in the new Library.
Annual Fund Appeal - You can support the ongoing work of
the Library by making a donation to the Library Foundation’s
annual fundraising campaign
